Vice-Chancellor's Message
It is a matter of honor and immense pleasure that destiny has given me an opportunity to lead JNT University Anantapur.
Higher education scenario globally has witnessed a significant change in approach and a remarkable growth. Higher education in India too, has readily adapted to the global demands and every institution has geared up to meet the global challenges by harnessing the latest technologies in education front. The move towards inter-disciplinary studies, research based and interactive learning with technology integration have opened up several options as well as created multiple challenges.
In the year 2008, by an Act of AP State Legislature, JNTU was trifurcated into three independent universities viz., JNTU, Hyderabad, JNTU, Kakinada and JNTU Anantapur. JNTU College of Engineering, Anantapur became a constituent college of JNTUA and was renamed as JNTUA College of Engineering, Anantapur. The JNTUA College of Engineering, Pulivendula, established in the year 2006 and Oil Technology Research Institute (OTRI), Anantapur, established in the year 1948 also became constituent units of JNTUA. JNTUA College of Engineering, Kalikiri established in 2013 also constituent unit of JNTUA. The OTRI was later renamed as Oil Technology and Pharmaceutical Research Institute (OTPRI), in 2016. A new constituent college - JNTUA - SKIT, Srikalahasti established in 2025 also came under the fold of JNTUA.
A strong believer and practitioner of the dictum "Knowledge is Power", JNT University Anantapur has been on the path of delivering quality education by developing the young human resources with ethical and moral values, while boosting their leadership qualities, research culture and innovative skills. The main objective of the University is to provide higher education of global standards and hence, all the programs are designed to meet international standards. Highly experienced and qualified faculty members, continuously engaged in the maintenance and enhancement of student-centric learning environment through innovative pedagogy, form the backbone of the University.
At JNT University Anantapur, research, consultancy and innovation are regarded as our pillars of success. Most of the faculty members of the University are involved in research by attracting funded projects from various funding agencies. The outcome of the research is passed on to students through live projects from industries.
JNT University Anantapur has introduced structured training programs on soft-skills and preparatory training for competitive examinations are offered to make students more employable and towards 100% placement. The entrepreneurship development activities and establishment of "Technology Incubation Centers" in the University extend full support to the budding entrepreneurs to nurture their ideas with innovation and creativity and establish an enterprise for knowledge transfer and wealth creation.
I would like to conclude by quoting Guru Rabindranath Tagore that "The higher education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with our existence."
